In the tradition of continued innovation, Charlie Chan has created a new service for herself and other recording artists called Martian Method. The Martian concept is not new to those of you who know Charlie’s recordings as the label this music was originally distributed through is called Martian Music.

Martian Method is a new method of delivering music and other creative works to consumers. It by passes the traditional retail arena and short circuits the consumer directly to the creator. This should speed up the delivery of new works and remit a larger portion of the income derived from the sale of the work to the artist all in a legal and legitmate format.

As you can appreciate there is a lot of excitement out there for a service such as this and Charlie will be answer all the hard questions in the up coming weeks as the service is launched and other artists start to try it on for size.

Charlie Chan’s composition Paradise has been the theme music for the Logie Award winning documentary series, Australian Story for more than 4 years. This composition is from Charlie’s critically acclaimed collection of recordings titled, East and West.

Charlie always wanted to compose a work for Australian Story and was approached by the producers, who had fallen in love with her composition Paradise.

‘You know Deb (the executive producer) called me, after I had written this really heart felt note I’d attached to some recordings I sent her, she basically called to ask if Australian Story could use Paradise. I didn’t quite follow what was happening for a moment and somehow we settled on the concept of adapting the music to suit the opening’

The Australian Story version of Paradise is performed when you first launch this website. It is now available for purchase as a download. You can also purchase a collection of music from Australian Story which includes the original composition Paradise and the extended mixes used for the opening and closing credits of the program.
