Event Details

Tap into the energy and vibrancy of the ancient First Nation stories hidden in plain sight around you. The Museum of Sydney forecourt is transformed into a light and sound experience for Symphony of the Dreaming, an immersion into the ancient songlines of NSW.

In First Nations culture, The Dreaming refers to a time in the ancestral past when mythical beings shaped the land, their energies forever embedded in Country.

Encircled by illuminated poles, light and sound react to your movement, presence and the ambient sound around you, ensuring no two experiences are the same. As you step forward, the past meets the present—allowing you to create a deep, personal connection to Country.

Created by Dharawal and Yuin artist Alison Page in collaboration with creative technologist and composer Charlie Chan, Symphony of the Dreaming translates First Nations spirituality into a mesmerising interplay of light, rhythm, and energy—a space where the stories of the past become part of our shared present.

This project is proudly supported by the NSW Government through the Blockbusters Funding initiative
