Horologium, the pendulum clock, has six main stars. Its brightest, Alpha Horologii, is an ageing orange giant, swollen to about eleven times the Sun's diameter. The tracks are named for its stars.
Notes from Charlie: Horologium is Latin for the clock, and some of you know how much I love clocks and watches. Fittingly, a few of these pieces tick like time itself.
Every piece in Constellation is an improvisation. Most came in the middle of scoring a film or working on something else, when I needed to stop and stretch out at the piano. Recorded across more than 25 years, they were released as 52 collections, one a week through 2023, each following the night sky. Every track is named for a star. 433 improvisations, around 30 hours of music.
Creativity is infinite.
