Scorpius, the scorpion, has 18 main stars. At its heart is Antares, the 'rival of Mars', named for its red glow. The tracks include Antares, Shaula and Sargas.
Notes from Charlie: The first of many recordings from my studio on the North Coast of New South Wales. It's in the rainforest: green, quiet, cows instead of billboards. My piano sounds different here.
Every piece in Constellation is a solo piano improvisation. Most came in the middle of scoring a film or working on some other curious project, when I needed to stop, breathe, and let my hands go wandering across the keys. Recorded across more than 25 years, they were released as 52 collections, one a week through 2023, each following the night sky. Every track is named for a star. 433 improvisations, around 30 hours of music.
Creativity is infinite.
