A collection of solo piano improvisations.
Indus is a small southern constellation of three main stars. Its brightest, Alpha Indi, is an orange giant 101 light years away.
Notes from Charlie: The long piece here is a journey, and at around eighteen minutes it's the right length for a real moment of respite. Two new solo piano compositions, both on my newly installed Bösendorfer. All that sound is like a sonic bath.
Every piece in Constellation is a solo piano improvisation. Most came in the middle of scoring a film or working on some other curious project, when I needed to stop, breathe, and let my hands go wandering across the keys. Recorded across more than 25 years, they were released as 52 collections, one a week through 2023, each following the night sky. Every track is named for a star. 433 improvisations, around 30 hours of music. Creativity is infinite.
Tracklist
1. Alpha Indi (6:53)
2. Beta Indi (5:41)
3. Delta Indi (4:45)
4. Theta Indi (5:30)
5. Eta Indi (5:21)
Treasure the whole sky: all 52 collections for A$188 (save A$273)
