A collection of solo piano improvisations.
Lacerta, the lizard, is a small northern constellation of five main stars between Cygnus and Cassiopeia. Its brightest, Alpha Lacertae, is a blue-white star about 102 light years away.
Notes from Charlie: Another twenty-seven-minute live improvisation. I'm wandering, bumping into ideas here and there. This is what I do to tune in to myself.
Every piece in Constellation is a solo piano improvisation. Most came in the middle of scoring a film or working on some other curious project, when I needed to stop, breathe, and let my hands go wandering across the keys. Recorded across more than 25 years, they were released as 52 collections, one a week through 2023, each following the night sky. Every track is named for a star. 433 improvisations, around 30 hours of music. Creativity is infinite.
Tracklist
1. Alpha Lacertae (27:16)
Treasure the whole sky: all 52 collections for A$188 (save A$273)
CD quality, in Apple Lossless (ALAC), which plays on iPhone, Mac, Windows and most music players. Your download link arrives straight after purchase.
